WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) initiative welcomes Wells Fargo as the newest member of its Veteran Employment Advisory Council (VEAC). Wells Fargo has worked with HOH since 2012 and is expanding upon its commitment to better connect the transitioning military service member talent pipeline and civilian employment opportunities through programs like the Corporate Fellowship Program (CFP).
“Wells Fargo’s membership in the Veteran Advisory Council will bolster HOH’s veteran and military spouse hiring efforts across the nation and provide support for expansion of the HOH Corporate Fellowship Program—connecting the transitioning military service member talent pipeline with civilian employment opportunities across the country,” said Eric Eversole, president of Hiring Our Heroes and vice president at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Launched in 2011, the Veteran Employment Advisory Council brings together over 40 of America’s largest employers, public-private agencies, and military and veteran service organizations committed to hiring veterans and military spouses, establishing best practice for veteran employment, reporting measures around efforts to hire and retain veterans, providing mentorship opportunities to transitioning service members and spouses, and encouraging small and medium-sized businesses to join in their efforts.

Hiring Our Heroes is a nationwide initiative to help veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find meaningful employment. Working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s vast network of state and local chambers and other strategic partners from the public, private and nonprofit sectors, Hiring Our Heroes has helped hundreds of thousands of veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment through more than 1,200 job fairs in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, and on military installations overseas; a suite of free online career-based resources; and the Hiring 500,000 Heroes campaign.
