Our goal is to support small businesses in becoming more resilient and prepared for disasters. We understand that times of crisis can be devastating for communities, and we are dedicated to sharing knowledge, resources, and promoting collaboration to ensure a speedy recovery.

The R4R program is designed specifically for small businesses with 500 or fewer employees. It guides businesses through a three-step process to enhance their preparedness. Once the steps to resilience are completed, business become eligible for grants when a U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance declaration is made in their county.

Get started with the steps today:

Step 1: Complete the Preparedness Checklist

Download FedEx’s Emergency Preparedness Checklist for Small Businesses (available in English and Spanish). Make sure you have completed an Emergency Action Plan as outlined in the checklist.

Step 2: Register Your Business

To stay informed about the grant application process in case of a disaster in your county, register your business in our program database by completing this registration form.

TIP: To ensure you receive important notifications when a disaster occurs and FEMA declares Individual Assistance, please add the R4R team email address, resilience@uschamber.com, to your contacts. This will help prevent our communication from going to your spam or junk mail.

Step 3: Grants Awarded (based on eligibility)

Our team will closely monitor disaster declarations and individual assistance distinctions made by FEMA. If your business meets the following criteria and is selected for a grant, we will reach out to you.

  • Your business is located within an area impacted by the declared disaster.
  • You registered your business (Step 2) before the FEMA declaration occurred.
