Small Business Hurricane Recovery Grant Program Toolkit

On Thursday, October 31 at 8am ET, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation will launch the Small Business Hurricane Recovery grant program in collaboration with American Express to support small businesses impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. 

American Express has committed $5 million in philanthropic funding, to be distributed to 1,000 eligible small businesses across the Southeast to support their recovery and help them build resilience against future disasters. 

• Eligible small businesses can apply online here starting October 31 through November 17, 2024, at 11:59pm ET. 

• The program offers a $5,000 grant to businesses that meet eligibility requirements, including but not limited to the following: Located in SBA disaster-declared counties; financially harmed and can’t cover costs; have between 1-25 employees.

In addition, American Express will donate $1 for every purchase made on an American Express Card at small businesses across the U.S. on Small Business Saturday (November 30), to provide additional support to small businesses impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.  

• The additional funds raised through this giving pledge will support even more grants through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation for eligible small businesses in affected areas following Small Business Saturday (details forthcoming).
