Beginning in mid-April 2024 continuing into May, the Houston, Texas area experienced severe storms, including a derecho, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and extensive flooding. These events led to a Major Disaster Declaration through FEMA and other federal assistance for recovery efforts. The disasters caused widespread property damage, power outages, and loss of life. Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, and Walker Counties were among the most affected areas and will need ongoing support to recover.
This page will provide up-to-date guidance and resources to help the business community effectively contribute to response efforts. We will continue to update this list as more information becomes available.
