In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the U.S. Chamber Foundation’s International Women’s Day Forum on March 5, we’re highlighting 10 inspiring leaders who have made their mark in advancing opportunities for women and girls. Kate Glantz, Senior Director, Economic Opportunity and Empowerment at U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, works in partnership with the private sector to advance women’s economic empowerment, foster inclusive entrepreneurship, and champion equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

What’s your biggest focus for 2020 in driving women’s empowerment?

My biggest focus in 2020 is ensuring my work is inclusive of women from all backgrounds. I will actively seek out and elevate diverse women whose perspectives have been historically marginalized. It's only when all stakeholders are part of the conversation that we can start to work toward systemic change.

What advice would you give young women today?

Lift as you climb. As women tear down glass ceilings and rise to unparalleled heights in their careers, it’s crucial that they support women a few steps behind them on the journey. Make space, open doors, and show up for each other. We’re all in this together.

What would you like to see change in the next 10 years?

Women in positions of power are good for business and good for society. I want to see women rise to the highest levels of leadership, including more female CEOs and business owners, and women of all socio-economic backgrounds empowered to take control of their financial futures.

The 10th Annual International Women’s Day Forum: Marking a Milestone, Continuing the Momentum will take place on March 5 in New York City. Explore the full agenda and register now to save your spot.
