This fall, I went to Talent Forward 2019 in search of stories to share with our WorkingNation audience and everyone interested in today's most critical workforce issues. I found great examples of how business leaders are working to help solve the skills gap, a gap between the talent available and the talent demand that is preventing those businesses from filling millions of jobs in a variety of industries.

In this first Work in Progress podcast, I sit down with Steve Preston, CEO of Goodwill Industries Intl., to discuss the nonprofit’s many training programs designed to help prepare people for work at many stages of their lives. I walked away impressed with all Goodwill does to help build a stronger workforce. I think you will, too.

We have a few more great podcast interviews coming up from Talent Forward 2019 in the next few weeks—Benjamin Pring from Cognizant, Gayatri Agnew from Walmart, and Andrew Dunckelman from Google.org—so stay tuned. To subscribe, visit WorkingNation.com, or find the Work in Progress podcast on the future of work and the future of workers anywhere you get your podcasts.

We hope you enjoy the conversations.
